Cookie Policy
A plain-English explanation of the cookies we use and how to control them. Last updated: May 1, 2026.
A cookie is a small file stored on your device that helps a website remember things about you between visits. We use them only where we need to, and we explain each category below.
Categories of cookies we use
| Category | What it does | How to opt out |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keep you signed in, remember your cart and the cookie banner state, route checkout requests securely. | Cannot be turned off because the site does not work without them. |
| Analytics | Anonymous, aggregated stats about what readers actually use. We do not track individuals. | Use your browser's "Do Not Track" or third-party cookie blocker. |
| Advertising | We use Microsoft Advertising's Universal Event Tracking (UET) to measure conversions from search ads. The UET tag sets a "MUID" cookie that helps Microsoft attribute ad clicks. | Opt out at account.microsoft.com/privacy and optout.aboutads.info. |
Microsoft Advertising UET disclosure
We participate in Microsoft Advertising and we use the Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag on this site to measure ad performance. The UET tag drops the cookies described above and may be paired with the MUID cookie set by Microsoft. We never use UET to collect sensitive personal information. To opt out of personalized advertising from Microsoft, visit your Microsoft privacy dashboard. To opt out of cross-site behavioral advertising from a broader set of advertisers, visit optout.aboutads.info.
Browser-level controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Doing so may break some features of the site, particularly the cart and the member sign-in flow. You can also enable "Do Not Track" signals in many browsers, which we honor for analytics.
Updates
When we materially change this policy we will update the date above and post a notice on the homepage for at least 14 days.
